Your Weight During Pregnancy – What about it?
During pregnancy, your body is going to change a lot and will do so every day. So normally, that's going to include your weight. Aside from your doctor, many people will also have "recommendations" about your body; in the face of this, you need to know what's vital for you. As harmless as they may sound, hearing these comments about your body without you having a clear idea of your priority will affect the health of your pregnancy—physically and mentally. Your weight is not essential when you're pregnant. Because people are so hung up on the calories they burn and the exercise they put in, pregnant moms—too—adopt this thinking. Women should know: Your body will do what it needs to do to grow a human. So let it be! As long as your doctor says you're okay, that weighing scale isn't the whole story of how healthy you are.
Postpartum exercise, even with my background, was…
For Nicole, working out during pregnancy was totally different. The rules and the precautions all seemed new to her. It was like a blank slate. Nonetheless, her experience with fitness and the habits she had already built throughout the years became a helpful tool for her when pregnancy came. As her piece of advice for mamas-to-be, creating the same practices can make a significant difference. Nicole looks at it like training for a marathon. No woman should go into pregnancy without preparing herself just as much as no triathlete should enter any marathon with zero prep. Definitely, there are many angles a woman can train for the most physical event of her life as a mother and it's going to differ from mom to mom individually. So be open to variations. Get creative, think outside of the box, and roll with what works best for you. After all, this personal experience is your healing process too.
