When you think about baby feeding, what's the first method that comes to your mind? For some, the first option that comes to mind is the only option. Today, Erin disproves that. In this episode, Erin Moore talks to us about the realistic expectations that moms need regarding breastfeeding and formula feeding and the practical tips that can help moms transition faster and more confidently to formula. For Erin, women self-educating about formula even before giving birth is a must. With this education, more moms will understand that breastfeeding isn't their sole option when feeding their babies.

The Inhibition Toward Formula Feeding
In most parts of society, we can definitely agree that there is a general favor towards breastfeeding that is never present with formula. But why is this the case? For Erin, it's the lack of education, resources, and discussion. Because there are always more resources for breastfeeding and never enough for formula feeding, people grow this subconscious belief that formula isn't as advisable of an option to baby feeding as breastfeeding. While breastfeeding is a beautiful choice for both feeding moms and babies, in terms of benefits, it's not the only go-to option. In Erin's personal experience, the baby definitely agrees.
In some instances, your breast milk may not be enough for your baby. Sometimes they may also just not like it. Admitting this can be hard, but this is why it's best to stay open when it comes to deciding for your baby. As mothers, we also have to give them the chance to decide. The more enjoyable the process is for them, the easier it is for them to benefit. By talking to your pediatrician, knowing the brands, and understanding the ingredients you want and don't want for your baby, you will slowly start to find that formula feeding can also be a face of baby feeding that you and your baby can both agree to.

About Erin Moore:
Erin is a nurse practitioner to babies and kids and a lactation counselor who understands the struggles when it comes to feeding babies. She sees that we live in a society where you are expected to breastfeed your baby. Not only that but you are constantly told that "breast is best." For her, this makes it harder when breastfeeding does not go as planned.
Erin was shocked by the lack of credible, research-based resources when it came to choosing a formula and how to combination feed. That is how Baby Feeding Coach came to be.
For her, the way you feed your baby is truly a personal decision. Erin's goal is to guide moms throughout their feeding journey without shame or guilt. She wants to help moms meet their goals, whether it is formula feeding at the beginning, combo feeding, or exclusively breastfeeding.
